Removing Door Window Trims?
Hi,
I'm about to refurbish my existing door window trims. Planning to remove and sand them, then re-prime with etch primer, paint them with Dorchester Grey and finish them off with clear coat. I did a little test using a scrap piece of aluminium and the color looks spot on.
I also found replacement rubber seals from ebay which other people have been happy with so those are going in as well.
My only question is how do the trims come off? Are they fastened with something or is it just a matter of pulling them off with gentle persuasion?

Gentle persuasion and there is a little black goop at the front where it meets the mirror. I found it easiest to start at the rear of the door and work them up slowly.
Mind sharing a link to the seals you found?

Just after posting this I realised the seals I ordered are actually for the top edge of the window. Not for the trims on the door. Someone said elsewhere the rubber bits on the trims cannot be replaced...
Darn. Just removed them to have a better look. They're too corroded for refurbishing I think so I ordered new ones. I'll probably try to refurb them anyway just to see if it's doable. Got nothing to loose now
