Just wanted to check I have my part numbers correct for the door mirrors on my XJ8. The quoted parts form my 2004 car are
C2C39415 RH door Mirror
C2C39416 LH door Mirror
Other similar parts are these.
C2C39413 RH door Mirror
C2C39414 RH door Mirror
Would I be right in thinking that mine are the powerfolding versions and the others are the non-powerfolding type?
Yes you are correct regarding the first 2 parts but I have no idea about the second 2 numbers. I assume that you are aware that the parts nos you quote do not include the glass or the covers.

Yes, saw the whole units come in separate parts. Can source the covers etc if I need to. I have noticed there are several other parts number which have been superseded by the listed ones. Because the ones for me are (typically!) the more expensive of the options I am going on the premise that they must have the extra features.
The reason I am checking is because this is what has happened. Someone in a silver Honda went by too fast and too close and this is the result. The reason know it was a silver Honda is because the back of their mirror was found in pieces nearby.

On other Jaguar models the mirror pops off the locating drive peg on impact and folds against the vehicle to avoid precisely that kind of damage. I see from the X350 Owner's Handbook, this feature is specifically EXCLUDED with Powerfold on the X350 although it does apply to non-Powerfold. I wonder which genius thought that was a sensible design!
Thanks for that Six Rotors, that is most helpful for the mirrors part. Changing the door frame trim is another matter which I would rather like to do while I have the door card off.
I did one of mine a while back and I don't seem to remember any major aggro doing it. What I have been putting off is replacing all 4 of the window trims that go around the top of the glass. Mine are all in a shocking state with bad black touch up on them all. I have no idea why the black has come off them but it has.. I am also looking at a new drivers door mirror as mine is getting really slow folding and quite often fails to fully extend in or out. Its the £300 quid that is putting me off! I have power fold, puddle lights, heated, dimming and aparently memory seat is a factor too!
Just looked at you photo again and remembered that you need to take off the window weather seal thingy. It prises off but it will cling on like a climate protester to the motorway!
That will be something to enjoy then. I have the replacement piece in much better condition than mine. Still need to source the mirror but that is now in hand.
