Default Door seals

The door seals are that attach to the body are deteriorated on my 2006 XJR. Just drivers side. Read about flipping sides and moving the damage to the front. Then cover with black tape.
The pulling all four and reinstalling was a 20 minute job. Bought some 1” Gorilla Tape. No stick. Got some 3M Super 33 electrical, even less stick.
For those who patched these seals, what tape will stick to the rubber seal?
And does anyone know a source of used door seals? Mine are gray, with the black rubber. Need a front and rear.

Difficult to find seals in the right colours to buy and at one time they were very expensive,

probably still are from a dealer.

I never had any problem with ordinary black insulation tape (use glue if you have to)

when I dreamed up the seal swap method.

I lucked out on Ebay and purchased used ones in excellent condition and for a low ball price.

Was not even looking for them and stumbled on them.

Actually I bought rear door weather strips which are longer than front strips so just cut to size.

Default Will try

The ones I see on eBay are all beige. But most are rear. Will keep looking.
The protectant I am using may be why the tape will not stick.

Default No luck with Black Duck tape either

Must be the five years of rubber protectant. Seals were deteriorated when purchased. Applied several products to the rubber over these five years.
Currently using 303, have used Krytox and a German roll on. The rubber is like Teflon, nothing sticks.

The door seal part number can be got from the JDHT parts website;
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/
Then if you search on ebay some are still available at reasonable prices
