DTCs by ECU How to erase JLR SDD. the procedure fails. When programming the box, it also lets you know that it couldn't be erased. Maybe someone knows how to go about it. Jaguar drives normally

 

I do not have SDD.

Neither of my iCarsoft (i930, V3) is able to clear a(ny) ECU code - XJ8-L or Rover L320 - if the motor is running.

I have to shut it down, do the clear - which always succeeds - then re-start.

That is rudely inconvenient in certain circumstances. I'd really RATHER be able to clear codes and re-scan without shutting the motor off.

I "suspect", but have too small of a sample size to "prove".. that is a 'feature' built-in to the ECU, and is scan-tool tribe agnostic.

Have you tried clearing with motor OFF?
