Default Egr removal

Picked up a lumpy idle last week.Changed all coil packs as a precaution due to age and milage .Made no difference.I then got a maf eml light came on reset came on again the following day.Replaced maf sensor you guessed it no change.I then had another eml, p0400 come on in the way of a sticking egr valve or blocked pipe. This could also explain why I get a exhaust fume smell in the car when cold.
So today I've stripped off what I could to get to the egr valve.Once I found the little ******* I am know stuck on how to get it out to clean it.I undid two 10mm headed bolts but this only loosened the top halve of the valve. How to I get to the mounting bolts unless I'm going blind I can't see them. Do I have to remove the supercharger and bring it out all together.
I've had a search around the internet on the usual forums but still none the wiser.
Any information or ideas would be greatly received.

Thanks your exhausted
Steve.

Something else I forgot to ask was after I removed the windscreen cowl I also removed the pollen filter box and the brake reservoir box.Just above the throttle body there is some plastic covers with that ***** heat proof crap on.How do I remove these as they would give me better access to what I'm looking at.

Cheers
Steve.
