Default Engine

Hello,
Would anyone know why my 2003, 350, 3.0 ltr petrol engine has started to pulse
at around 1500,2000 revs, its not a lot and you can't feel it when you drive as these cars are smooth anyway.but it is annoying.
It only dose this on the peddle and not when in cruse control.
Any help would be grate.
Many thanks Squeaky. (Dave)

Welcome to the forum Dave,

Members in the X350 forum with the same model are most likely able to help.

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X350.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Sounds like you have the "hunting" syndrome. How long have you had the car ? This syndrome is normally found during warm-up, but not of the engine, but the transmission fluid. Once the transmission fluid is up to temperature, it disappears. Is this the same with your car ?

I have had this since 2010 when I bought the car, and despite a couple of TCM reflashes, it still occurs. I just stick it into '4' for about 10 minutes. Normally it has to be on a light throttle, if you are onto a motorway or fast dual carriageway soon after starting out, it doesn't occur. It is caused by the lock-up clutch in the torque converter, but why it occurs I have yet to hear. I suspect it is software, because if it was a mechanical fault, it should be there all the time, and it isn't.
