Arrow Engine block swapping

Hello Guys,
I'm own a jag xj 2,7D 2008 and this is my first jag ever, I'm used to drive petrol bmws all the time, so please don't expect much knowledge from my side, I liked the jag old design even though it doesn't accelerate as fast as im used to drive, and the previous owner informed me that short trips with this engine will leak fuel to engine oil which is weird for me but ok.
the question here is .. which engine block is compatible to mine since this is ford engine as far as i read online, I want to change only the block and everything else stock , ?

With bmws is very easy but this car has only 2,7D and I want 3,2 or 3,0L minimum to cop with the 2 tone car weight, If anyone have done this project or able to help me out further would be much appreciated,

Many thanks in advance.
Ibram .

Not least because of the computers, the viable way to do it is sell your car and buy one with the engine you want.

Everything else will cost a lot more and that's why no-one has done it.

Do you think a range rover will not fit with a software installation ? I liked the jag classic look thats why i bought it. all other cars looks ugly to me even the newer jag ?

What "software installation" do you think you could do?

My expectation is: none because it's not going to work without enormous cost and time.

It's not just a matter of 'swapping blocks' ie engines, especially if you want to go from a 2.7 diesel to a gasoline.

It also means different:
  • transmission (TCM which is inside the transmission),
  • wiring looms and connectors,
  • engine mounts,
  • final drive,
  • exhaust system (different cats, and no DPF)
  • cooling system (oil cooler is completely different),
  • fuel system (filters, position and type, are completely different),
  • instrument display unit
  • ...

I've been on both this, and the UK jag forum, for the X350 for six years I can't ever recall anyone seriously trying to do this.
