Engine hits a wall between 4000-5000rpm

Default Engine hits a wall between 4000-5000rpm
My '05 XJR Acts like it is running up against the rev limiter between 4000 and 5000 rpm under hard acceleration. what could be the cause of this?

Hard to say without more info....

Have you read the codes? Does it stumble anywhere else in the rev range?

It's either fuel, air or spark related, if that helps...

I found out today that cylinders 2,4,6,and 8 are cutting out. This is a whole bank. don't know what causes this.

You had the codes read?

A complete bank, this sounds familiar to another thread here a while back, turns out that catalytic converter on that side had collapsed and was choking it.

Have the exhaust back pressure measured, done by pulling the o2 sensor on that bank and installing a pressure gauge in its place.
