Default EPB Motor Out of Stock

Hello,

My Jaguar Super V8 2003 is in for repair but the C2C38667 EPB Motor is not available from Jaguar Classic Spares (www.jaguar.co.uk). The Jaguar Specialist Garage told me Jaguar has not got a supplier.
According to Jaguar Spares it was expected in stock 2 weeks ago. No sign off yet though...

Do anyone know how to repair the EPB motor itself or what other solution can be used?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide Robert

Only suggestion I have would be to consider a used one? Good idea on repair but I have never seen it or heard of anyone trying to do it.
Now with the difficulty in changing that motor I hesitate to suggest this. Last I checked it required the rear cradle to be dropped for access?
Sounds like the car is already at the shop?
Have you got a labor quote yet?

Google the part no
Just jags have a new one and there is an used one here;

C2C38667 4.2 SC Handbrake motor, JagParts

Repair might be difficult but talk to Just Jags-they have parts for it.

The thing is bolted to the top of the diff. and people have sometimes

cut a hole in the bottom of the spare wheel well to remove.

Rimmer Bros seemed to have that part number available, at least as far as Checkout.
As well as at least 3 available on eBay, found via Google.

But after Meirion's description of where it is...oh never mind.

Default Tried other Suppliers

Thanks for the responses, I very much appreciate you are trying to help.

I got a used one fitted and that's how all my problems started since you have to drop the diff as mentioned and as I supplied the part got no warranty. It worked to start with apart from a yellow warning on the dashboard. Got code P1710 Hall effect Sensor Faulty and after the Garage gave up the car went to a Jaguar Specialist. They changed to EPB control unit in the boot. However, came back with Motor Faulty as they could not source one. So £800 for no solution.

I have been in phone contact with suppliers who show stock only to be told they have not got any. They order as I normally do direct from Jaguar Classic Parts. I tried:
  • BML
  • Just Jags
  • British Parts
  • Exco in NL
I am awaiting an update from Jaguar as the part should have been in stock end if May.
I have agreed with the Garage to take the cost for parts as it has been in for repair in excess of 2 years.
Suspect this caused the 2nd hand EPB motor to totally fail. Labour will be on the Garage.

May go for the 2nd hand one from NL. Thanks for letting me know.

Last chance saloon for the Çar which has too many unique parts which limits availability.

UPDATE FROM JAGUAR:Purchasing have loaded a "tentative" ETA of July11th into the system. This date would be into the warehouse and would then require packing and binning before any are released to clear orders, so I'd say July 15th.If you register your interest we will email you as soon as stock is released for sale.

Thanks for the very detailed update!
It's a shame this is so expensive and on top of that no parts available.

Default Update on EPB

Hi,

Ordered the EPB from JagParts NL but the lack of progress suggest they do not have any.

As I am protected by eBay protection, ordered the New EPB from Lithuania,.they have confirmed the part is in stock.

Noticed Land Rover, BMW and Mercedes repaired EPB units or kits are available.

Yeah I saw that. But I'm surprised you didn't buy from
JAGUAR XJ 2003 - 2009 HANDBRAKE ELECTRIC PARKING. PART- C2C38667 | eBay
who state 3 available.
Anyway I agree, I regularly buy via eBay (usually other stuff) simply because they give a guarantee, which gives some confidence when buying from the ends of the earth..

I could ask what a Swedish Viking is doing positioned in Brighton, but never mind at least it's not near Castle Bromwich.

What upsets me is that it's on top of the diff. I think I will treat my remaining EPB very carefully...
