Exhaust Flexi Joint Blowing & Inlet Port Deviation Diaphrams required
My 2009 XJ (2.7TD) was checked at an authorized dealer after having repeated "Restricted performance" warnings. The dealer said that the Nearside Exhaust Flexi Joint was Blowing (new Flexi Pipes required) and Inlet Port Deviation Diaphrams were required. Estimate for Parts was Euro €722, Labour was €460 + Tax = €1,341. What scares me apart from the Price is that they said that they would investigate if the problem continues after doing this work, which suggests that more work may be required. I was thinking of showing it to an Indie but was interested in your thoughts & feedback. Thanks.

Better to post your thread in the X350 forum where you'll get a better response.
There is a Jaguar 'kit' for these exhaust pipes at the point where they fail, so you don't have to buy the full shebang. I don't know the price (your price doesn't have a breakdown), but I suspect the dealer has quoted for the kit as the price includes the inlet port parts.
Are both sides cracked and blowing ?

Usually if one side goes, then the other probably isn't far away!
Makes sense to do both at once but totally up to you of course, looks like they're quoting to do both sides and seems a reasonable price.
Not so long ago Jaguar would've told you both cats needed replacing at around £2000+
If it's blowing as they say, you'll be smelling diesel fumes in the cabin, especially when stationary.
