Hi there i have just purchased a used 2008 XJ358
however the wing mirrors are not folding in,i have been in to the settings but is set to auto,also driver wing mirror courtesy night light not working,can anyone advise please.

 

The door mirrors have a habit of seizing up, both of mine are seized. Lots of threads on this forum and the USA one about the mirrors not working. Some people have managed to free them up , I did get mine working some years ago but they then seized up again.
I tried lithium grease as it was recommended, when you take the back off or remove the light lens from underneath you can see a huge amount of gunge in there , a good start point will be to try to clean it out.

 

not sure if they changed them on later models but on mine, if I lock the doors with the fob and hold the lock button they fold in, also pressing and holding the main button on the drivers door does the same
