On my X-Type the mirrors do fold, but not easily. They are very stiff to move and I never move them myself, afraid they will break.

A few times, after leaving my car unattended, I've come back and thought the mirror was broken. Thankfully, someone must have bumped into it and it folded. This has happened two or three times in 8 years. I think of it as more of a last hope to prevent damage than something I want to do on regular basis.

Power fold side mirrors was only an option in Europe and new model X's (>06'), but other jags are equipped with manual folding mirrors.

My passengers side mirror can fold, but the drivers side is so stiff that it is more likely to rip off than fold!
