Default Mirrors not folding in

Hi,

I have a 2014 XF R-Sport and have a problem with the door mirrors - they don't fold in! I have tried pressing the two mirror selector buttons simultaneously to no avail.

Also, I believe there should be an option in the on-screen display for automatically folding the mirrors when the ignition is turned off, but there is no reference to the door mirrors whatsoever in the menus.

Any ideas guys?

To my understanding they never did fold in the first place, i have an XFR-S and there's no feature for folding mirrors, at least not in north america. I have heard it comes stabdstain some models and as an option in other models, that is for Europe at least.

I was pretty peeved to find that iut, even my 2006 g35 coupe had that feature. I have heard some people were able to retro fit power folding mirrors to their xf250 though, hopefully they can chime in, im sure it has the wiring for power folding mirrors already, maybe just needs the motor and programming.

Thanks for the info. I should add the mirrors won't even fold in manually. Very disappointing for a premium car.

They do fold in manually but you have to press hard against the body of the mirror. They only fold up an inch or so.

If the wiring is ran in the X250, you could probably install power mirrors and turn on feature using SDD... other forum members that are more knowledgeable about SDD could confirm...

Were folding mirrors an option (as they were on some models of the S-Type)?

Yes, I have a friend that has this feature on his XFR, I do not know what trim levels received this option, but my guess would be that there is a good chance that the wiring is there for cars to add power mirrors, but the catch would be turning on feature in SDD...

I suppose it's annoying when anyone buys a used car and finds the OP did not specify the option.

I don't know if the wiring will be there - it's not on the car's predecessor (the S-Type).

It was an option in Europe but I didn't realize it was even an option in USA
In reality they don't fold in very much so it hardly seems worth it. I suspect cheaper to replace a broken mirror glass than to retrofit it

Good news they do actually fold in manually if you use a bit more force.

Thanks for your help guys.
