Default Ford auto locking program

How to cancel auto door locking and unlocking program.
in an x350.
We do not have the door buttons just the small chrome lever
but the lock actuators are stamped FORD.
Anyone tried it?

Never tried a ''work around' for control module configurations,

Jaguar has the 'list' for configurable modules.

The levers are manual; but the small 'knob' next to it is electronically controlled?
I'll try first chance I get!

When you pull on a door lever to open the door:

The chrome button unlocks the door electrically and the lever unlatches the door manually immediately afterwards.

The chrome button can be operated separately to lock or unlock the door without unlatching it.

You cannot press the 'unlock button' 3 times without locking in between because we do not have a button as such.

So I am assuming we cannot do this?

And there is a button on the dash, but again it's just a toggle. Locks if they're unlocked and unlocks if they're locked. No way to press unlock three times, unless maybe it accepts it from the remote...

"unless maybe it accepts it from the remote..."
That's a really good suggestion Woofshee

EsRay You could try this but please don't take any advice from me

since I do not know what the possible "dangers" are.

Today I went to see a local garage owner who specialises in British cars and asked if he could delete
drive away locking.

He said he could, there were some difficulties but we eventually got there in the end and he charged

just the price of a scan ie $80! His system cost $35k + /$10k pa.
The problem with my Jag was randomly the driver's door would not unlock due to
status switch in the actuator wearing out.
Found a new actuator in the UK but it was 250 GBP +import duty,,shipping, customs, GST + +
so I applied my not inconsiderable 77 year old brain and realised that if the doors were always unlocked
then the dodgy switch would not matter.

meirion1, with regards to your status switch comment, I remember stumbling across a write up in the X-Type forum on replacing the failing micro switches in their door latch mechanisms.
Probably a similar door latch mech used in the XJ8 as similar production time, so might be worth doing a bit of a search to see if you can find that thread.
You might be able to refurb your latch mech for a mere fraction of the cost of new.

Hi Mark
Replacing a failed microswitch is straight forward but accessing

a status switch looks difficult to say the least since it is buried in the

actuator and is a type of swipe switch and not something "bought in".

It can be dismantled but re mantling it

would probably require a jig.

BTW When I had the drive away locking cancelled yesterday the garage
owner could not find the command in his software and had to contact his support
guy in Brisbane and even he took a long time to find it.
After he found it he said that it was not in the "locks" section
and I remember that Cambo said that in SDD it is under "extras"

Is the software they are flogging at huge prices based on SDD?

Esray
There must be a garage in Dubai who can cancel your drive away locking.
These systems are essential for garages these days
If you find them they may have the same problem finding it and you can enlighten them
Cheers

Meirion1, you are my number one go-to guy on (amongst many, many other things) central locking...

Please, clarify why I need 5 micro switches?

Rest assured, if I need 'em, I'll get 'em!

It was the minimum order from RS at the time.

I have since found some from Ali express
This may be the right ones-I would need to double check

The link you sent is not the correct microswitch because
you need metal contacts on the outside.
You need one microswitch per actuator but I suggest
that you buy more as spares.

Cheers

Thanks Meirion1,

Is the link you sent previously for the correct one, please? It now appears to have disappeared? Is there a definitive part number or something that would enable me to source the correct microswitch?

I apologise for being such a pest, but I obviously want to try to avoid shelling out USD100 for a used Actuator, plus another USD100 shipping, plus 5% import duty, plus 5% VAT just to get it here!

Thanks again,

Ray

Thanks Meirion1

Just to double-check, please, is this the correct one:

DJ1G-AG10 For Ford Focus Trunk Tail Door Lock Vertical Micro Limit Switch

While I am bothering you, is there also a microswitch in the DDM, please?
Regards,
Ray
