Default Front Parking sensor replacement

I'm getting spurious parking beeps (long continuous beeps) from the front parking aid when driving slowly and also stationary. It's gradually been getting worse and worse. I now have to press the button to disable it. I've had the codes read from front parking aid system and it reports that a couple of sensors are dodgy.

Can these be replaced without the bumper being removed? If not, how much of a job is it to remove and replace the bumper? Does it take two people to re-install the bumper?

I have done this job but on rears.

I believe front bumper removal is not difficult.

You can substitute replacement sensors until no more continuous beep.

Get yourself a copy of JTIS, I don't like it but it can help.

Front bumper removal is not difficult at all. Jack up car, remove front wheels. Remove screws in front of wheel liner, remove screws along bottom of bumper and remove front air shield. Remove the upper radiator shroud, remove the grille (2 screws and a couple plastic clips). Unclip the bumper cover from on top of the headlamps. Then pull the end of the bumper, it snaps over plastic clips at the bottom edge of the fender. Repeat on the other side, and bumper will fall off. Helps to have a 2nd set of hands to hold it when removing, there's all the wires and hoses to worry about.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to tackle this job after I've finished replacing all the worn suspension bushes on my car, of which there are quite a few it seems!

keep the tires on, only need to use a short screw driver or ratchet drive with a phillips head to reach those wheel liner fasteners. Don't forget the side marker lamp first before pulling the bumper free...it'll break off if you don't. There's plenty of pics in another thread...try the search for headlight removal. you'll find it! g'luck!
