Default Front suspension upper control arm HEX nut

Hello all,

On "Bilstein"'s video below, at 03:29 - narrator emphasized to "Disconnect the ball joint from the upper control arm, the nut must not be used again".

1. Why?
2. What is the size/dimensions of this HEX flunged locking nut need to be replaced on the front suspension upper, (wishbobe) control arm?
A. Does it metric/Inch?
B. What is the nut wall height?
C. What is the thread coarse pitch?
D. Does nut require the "Nylock Lock Nut" mechanism on top?

(That's because "Lamförder" C2C41961 & C2C41960 does not include these special nuts w/control arms)

Thanks.

It is normal to replace Nyloc nuts when they are removed to repair the item they are securing, especially in this safety critical location. You just have to replace like with like.

Can't use current upper control arm locking nut with a spring washer, (https://media.rs-online.com/t_large/F0530876-01.jpg)
and flat stainless steel washer beneath?, (https://www.masonryfixings.ie/image/...-1-500x500.jpg)

(Sure have to choose both washers correct width in order to remain ~1.5-2 free coarse threads at the vertical ball joint bottom)

If you are not replacing the arms, nuts are still in good shape, i'd use them.

Not my advise, but you should do what THEY tell you, not what i'd do.

Thanks but...

In order to allow me replace the front air suspension/shock absorbers, I need to release some other hex, flunge
locking nuts from other arms, (like: front stabilizer bar link, front lower arm etc. https://simplecircuitdiagram.me/wp-c...ng-library.jpg),

Soooo... do I need to replace every single releasing flunge locking nut from every arm, (as all are nyloc nuts type)?

They make steel ones as well, it is always better to be safe.

But i would reuse the original in good shape, over the set up you asked about.
