Default Fuse Mystery

I am trying to check the 10 Amp fuse that is supposed to be at location 25 in the engine compartment fuse box according to my owner's manual. But that spot is empty. There is no fuse there. When I put in a 10 Amp fuse there is no connector. It just sits in the plastic panel. Anyone else have this problem. Any idea where the fuse that controls the RH front turn signal,RH door mirror signal, front side marker lights (both sides) and sun visor lights is located on this car?

Default Fuse mystery solved.

It is the fuse box in the passenger compartment that has the fuse.

Hi Bill,

I have moved your posts from the forum fo the X308 to the forum for the X358, which is the Jaguar factory project code for your 2008 XJ.

It looks like all of those circuits trace back to fuse F25 (10A) in the Passenger Junction Fuse Box. Here's a diagram showing the fuse box location:

And here's a diagram of the Passenger Junction Fuse Box fuse numbers:

These diagrams come from the Electrical Guide, which you can download here:

Jaguar X358 Electrical Guide 2008

Cheers,

Don

Default Fuse Mystery

Thanks, Found it.

When I replaced the fuse the new one burned out immediately so now I just have to find the short.

Two tips

It might be worth scanning for DTC's

The wiring in the stalks has been known to fail.

Only guessing.

The most likely spot for a short would be the sidemarker lamp - the sockets and electrical connectors are known to suffer corrosion from water ingress. To remove the lamp, first try pushing it upward and swinging the lower edge outward. If you can't get it out that way, apply some masking/painter's tape around the lamp and use a plastic pry tool to pry the lamp loose and work it out of the opening in the bumper. You'll then be able to inspect the electrical connector and bulb socket.

Cheers,

Don
