Default Getting to door handle

I have a 2004 Vanden Plas, and the driver's exterior door handle is starting to get a little loose. Does anyone have any advice on how to get to it? I expect it means removing the trim on the inside of the door, but I'm not sure where to start, what tools to use, and how the trim pieces are attached. I don't want to mar or strip anything by experimenting with prying here and pulling there. Thanks in advance for any help!

Have removed door panels and external handle on 1989 Majestic and 1993 Sovereign. Don't know whether comparable to a 2003 Vanden Plas but for my vehicles panel removal was easy once I figured out how the armrests were attached. Would definitely recommend buying the specialty upholstery tools -- I bought mine at Autozone. I started threads on this topic -- and handle removal -- you might want to check out the responses I got. Good luck

I appreciate your help. I bought the 6,300 page pdf service manual that also describes how to take the door panels apart, so that should be helpful too. Upon more inspection I've found that there is some play on the rear part of all the door handles, so I'm not really sure whether the driver's side is coming loose or not.

The Haynes Manual might also be useful.

Loose handles are a bit of a fault on the x350.

3jags,
I haven't been able to find a Haynes manual for the 2004 VDP--do you have a link where one can be found?

That's helpful to know loose handles have been a problem on this model, so I'm not just imagining things!

Oooops! I had no idea Haynes were no longer publishing manuals for Jaguars. Mine are so old that the existing manuals cover them
