My glove box doesn't have a tray. Were some cars not outfitted with them? Was the original purpose of the tray to hold the owners manual? I would love to free up the space in the box by adding the tray if it will hold the manual. Any issue with retrofitting one?

 

mine does not have a tray, it has an elastic strap at the back of the box that holds the manual perfectly flush against the back of the glove box freeing up a ton of room to store stuff.
