Default It has been one year…

…since I purchased an ‘09 Portfolio. Not my first jag but it is my most modern jag. Such a beautiful car that I could not pass on her. I have driven about 5k miles and have no complaints about reliability so far. I had RR air spring go bad within a month of ownership. It was an easy fix. Then over the weekend she threw a code… p0174… so I am poking around here looking for obvious places to start. I got an idea or two, thanks to those who have gone before.

So anyway, good day to all and thanks for the collective knowledge and experience. It is very helpful.

Same here...passed the 1 year mark back in Sept. First Jaguar ever and I'm really enjoying the car. I had to fix some small issues and 1 front air strut went out, but now only the sunroof fabric and a dent remain to be fixed and she'll be close the her 2005 condition. Really a unique body style and like a hot lady, i keep staring at her.

The average person exhales 3.2 million liters of air in a year.
So give the air suspension a break!

Ok I will give em a break!

Air suspension is a rather funny thing on a Portfolio in that she runs low profile 20-inches. So the ride is kinda choppy on less than pristine pavements. I live in constant fear of these failures only because the air springs are themselves quite pricey. I can do the work myself. Unfortunately the P/O had them replaced with Arnotts. I prefer the Bilsteins n]but they are really pricey!

- You made the right choice with Bilstein (do NOT use "rebuilt" shocks)
- Check for little vac leaks, esp at PVC valve to valve cover O rings, dipstick O ring, plus clean MAF with MAF cleaner

Thank you! I haven’t found the source of the p0174 code so I will look there.

Try deleting the code-it may not come back.

Meririon1, that was my first move. Didn’t come back immediately but in a couple of days did!

Hello all, it's been 10.5 months since the my purchase of my 2004 Zircon Blue XJ and I've put 16K miles on my baby. It's been my daily, but I keep her off the road during bad weather days and take out the LR3 on those days. I absolutely love driving the car and find myself always turning back to look at her when parked. I've had a few minor issues (2 coil packs, MAF sensor, AC system leak/recharge) and have done all the scheduled maintenance (synthetic oil change every 3K miles, all new brakes etc). I do all the work myself and it's been relatively easy to work on.

It's moving up the ranks as my all-time favorite cars I've owned and I've owned 30+ in my life (I've owned some great ones lol ).

Good Luck with your new ride also!
