Default Headlight Adjuster Issue

Ive been trying to solve this for about a year or so. The Xenon Headlamp Assembly has a Vertical Aiming adjuster towards the top center of the housing. It works well, and if you adjust it you will get a vertical change to the Xenon - Low Beam. There is another adjuster towards the inside (center of the car) that I assumed was a horizontal adjustment. We all know what assuming means and in my case it proved true. I screwed it all up - the effect is only to the conventional halogen high beams, and while THEY dorn't point way up - I am getting weird reflections that light up the trees above me when the high beams are on.

Either it ISN'T for horizontal adjustments or I have twisted it to far and perhaps the threaded rod has come detached from wherever it connected - or a nut or crossbar has become detached. It now seems to do nothing much at all. Any ideas? Taking it all apart is one way, but I am not crazy about pulling apart a really pricey part. Used ones gp $350+ and I have only seen non-Xenon versions selling new for $650. I would really like to try and fix this, though. HAs anyone pulled apart one of these units? If it has a glue seal you usually have to warm the whole thing up in the oven, and of course you have to seal it well when reassembling. Some of the pics I saw on a non-halogen show tabs that make me hope it can be pulled apart without breaking a glue seal.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Adjustment on right is the broken one. Center handles vertical set of xenon lamp.

Can it be pulled apart by separating these tabs around the clear lens?

Thanks for any ideas!

If you can't access the area you want you can cut holes in the plastic body and patch it later.

I suggest that you start by having a look behind the screw off cap next to the adjuster and follow it from there.

I have had to do this in the past when a bulb holder fell into an inaccessible part of the 'box'.

Thanks Meirion1 - I will take a look, though I am not too optimistic I will get at it without major disassembly. Does anyone know what the Gray covers are for on the housing? There is one below each adjuster though the center one is offset and the other is directly below. The seem to have a breather tubes for condensation relief but I am not convinced that is their primary purpose.

Any idea of the purpose of the item with the arrow?

The grey covers are vents for condensation. They are one of the few parts you can get separately for the lights.
