Default Hello All!

Hello All im new so i just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Kaleb, I have a 2005 Jaguar XJR I've had her for about two months its going okayish only problems I have is the radio but all i can do about that is Bluetooth to FM for now unless someone else has any other ideas! Recently I changed out my speakers and now my locks are messing up so I have to see what I can do about that. Does anyone know about the subs in the back how I can change them out? I am excited to see what ideas y'all have! Also maybe y'all know i have about 16 MPG shes at the shop getting some work done to the evap leak do you happen to know if thats why the MPG is so bad? Thanks!

Hi Kaleb,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

There are many possible causes of poor fuel economy. Just to name a few: an obstructed air filter can lead to rich running; a coolant thermostat that is stuck open will not allow the engine to reach full operating temperature; an engine coolant temperature sensor (ECTS) that is stuck at a cold setting will cause the engine control module (ECM) to continue applying cold-start fuel enrichment even after the engine is hot. All can lead to increased fuel usage.

An important starting point for any diagnosis is to have the car scanned for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Any good OBDII scan tool can read the generic powertrain related codes (codes with a P- prefix), but to read the proprietary Jaguar P-, Body (B-), Chassis (C-) and Network (U-) codes requires a Jaguar dealer-level system such as IDS or SDD, or an iCarsoft i930 JLR edition or a high-end third-party tool such as an Autel MaxiSys, Launch X431, or Autologic or Autoenginuity with the Jaguar packages.

Post all your codes here exactly as they appear and we'll be happy to help.

Cheers,

Don
