My parking break on my 2004 XJR seems to get suck on the ON mode. Cannot release it unless I mess with it for about 15 minutes. Sometimes it works and sometimes it is just in stuck mode. Does not matter if I put it on, it seems to be automatic from what I have heard. Is there a release switch anywhere? In the trunk or ?

Thank you, yes i do receive the Park Break Message on the dashboard. Nice Red Light. Is the FUSE in the FUSE BOX or elsewhere? Originally Posted by 04Xjrsteve

Fuse number will be listed in the owner's manual.
PB comes on when you remove ign. key, and off when you insert key.
You should be able to hear it working with door or window open.
Also you can manually switch it off by depressing chrome switch on centre console and
on by pulling it up.
Search this forum for recalib procedure.

+1 meirion1!!
There is quite a bit on the subject.
I just did a complete brake job & everything I needed for a thorough understanding, I found contained within these pages.
Curious to know how you fix it.

And that is how it use to work for many years. Now I shut down the car, remove the key and when I turn it back on the PB are on 100% Full On. I mess with it and sometimes it eventually resets itself to being off.Originally Posted by meirion1
