Default Help with 2005 Jaguar XJ8L spark plugs

I am trying to replace the spark plugs of my 2005 jaguar xj8L. I manage to pop out the Jag plastic covering the plugs but cannot removed it due to 2 tubes or cables over it at the drivers side. How do I remove it.

I had the same challenge with mine a few weeks ago. Was able to get the plastic cover out (had to take the oil dipstick out) with some cajoling. I was able to replace 7 of the plugs but could not get the last one (closest to the firewall-driver's side) so had to cave and have the dealer do it. Hopefully the thread helps. Still saved a fair amount of money doing 7 (dealer wanted $360 labor to replace them). Just take your time.

The spark plug closet to the firewall on the drivers side can be accessed once you remove the access panel on the side (facing spark plug) of the brake fluid reservoir. Instructions in this forum somewhere say you have to remove the plastic cover around the wiper blade arm mount however I simply undid a couple of plastic grommets and raised it up and inch or so so that I could move the panel enough to get a a socket extension thru. I had to "destroy" the insulation on the engine side of the removable panel in the process.

I did not have to take the whole panel out just slide it to one side on my 2005 Jaguar XJR.

I found a way to avoid all the taking apart to get to #8 by using a universal socket knuckle. I posted some pictures which you can find in this thread:
