I'm having an odd problem with my 2004 XJ8. Frequently the locks will stop responding to the remote. If I unlock the trunk with the key then the remote will work again. When this happens the light on the dash has also stopped blinking.

In addition to the above there also appears to be a slow battery drain where if I don't drive it every day the battery will go dead. The battery is not necessarily dead, however, when the above problem happens so the above problem isn't just a function of the battery being dead.

Any clue what could be going on?
