Default hid lights started flickering. i fixed it myself nice and cheap!

okay so i started to have my hid flicker problem as many of you have had and it always stems back to the turn signal switch. i knew i had to have it replaced so i decided what the heck and took it apart! after i took the switch out i noticed that it had clips around the housing so i got a steak knife ( yes such a proper tool, but worked amazing.) then took some tooth picks to shim behind the clips from popping back in place. after opening the housing right away i noticed that it was full of dust, lint, hair, and who knows what else. i then got some q.tips to wipe out the filth after cleaning it all out i took some electrical contact spray and sprayed the hell out of everything inside, then squirted some down the stalk of the signal where the headlight functions are. after spraying everything i got some electrical grease and smeared all the electrical connections put it back together and reinstalled it. its been two months since doing this and i have yet to have a flicker or look like my head lights have been swapped for strobe lights. of course im sure not everyone will have the same luck i have had but i hope everyone does. so anyone that has this problem i urge you to take yours apart too and do what i did and possibly save you
200 + plus dollars. after all if you need to replace it anyway what do you have to loose?
