How To Access Starter Bolt Closest to Engine Block?
Hello does anyone know how to get to the hard to reach starter bolt closest to the engine block ive tried everything I have big hands thats not helping my cause please someone tell me what to do?
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.
I have moved your posts to start your own thread with a title that will llet other members know the nature of your inquiry.
Unfortunately the Workshop Manual is not very helpful regarding the removal of the starter. This is all the instruction it gives:
I assume you've tried a deep socket with a universal joint and an extension of suitable length? If you have 1/4 inch drive sockets and extensions they may help if you can apply enough torque to loosen the bolt or nut. If I recall, one of the starter holes is secured with a bolt and the other slips onto a threaded stud and is secured by a nut.
Hopefully other members with better memories will be along to help.
Once you get your starter replaced, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST and post a required introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jaguar and give you a proper welcome.
