Default How on earth do I remove the seat backs?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone provide any words of wisdom? I spent best part of an hour trying to remove my drivers and passengers seat backs at the weekend to fit my picnic tables, but for the life of me, I cant workout how they come off. What I didnt want to do was force them and break any plastic parts.

Searched the forums and found someone retrofitting the picnic tables to a 308 - but unfortunately the seats backs arent attached in the same way. On checking the replacement pieces it looks like two plastic connections at the top, and two 'C' type connectors at the bottom that must just sit on some bars.

Anyone removed theirs?

Cheers

I'm not sure if the tray table models are the same, but on my standard XJ the seat backs are held on at the top corners by plastic nails--just pull out.

Default Seat

Please see the following diagram. And here's one with a removed seatback...

If I remember correctly, start at upper corner of the seatback and pull, pull, pull until the plastic fastener (#11 in diagram) gives way. Then move to the other upper corner and repeat.

Thanks-
mag

Yep according to JTIS just pull at the top of the seat back.
