Default Jim was that yours?

I only recall seeing one other cranberry interior. Jim the Admin, was that yours? I'd reckon they are quite rare.

I saw one advertised for sale here in New Zealand earlier in the year. It was an XJR with the contrasting seats, charcoal with cranberry inserts. I also saw one with a similar design but in green on EBAY shortly after that which is strange because that doesn't appear to have been an option.

There was also ivory with charcoal inserts and charcoal with heritage tan inserts available as options on the XJR's at one point.

I didn't like the cranberry on the XJR but then it occurred to me that my first XJS had red seats with a black exterior and that was OK.

I really don't like this interior color, by the way. It just doesn't go with any of the wood trim in the car. It would go better with carbon fiber or something.

I just ran accross a XJR with the same combo. It is for sale in Springfield MO

I agree, I don't know if it matches the wood that well.
I actually like it in a strange way.

I'm pretty sure it's a special order only. It seems to me that it is a combination favored by UK customers in that I've seen a number of listings with British high-end cars in either black or a dark blue with a red interior. Perhaps some of our UK members can shed more insight on what is popular now.

It is in the X350 brochures for 2004 and 2005 so is a standard option.

Thanks u102768:

The interesting thing I noticed is that for the UK and presumably other RHD markets the brochure showed the canberry interior was a standard option. For the US like markets the cranberry interior was an extra cost option for the XJR only. I would have to say Jaguar did a bit of tailoring to account for the tastes of that particular market.

As a side note, when I was in the UK on a business trip, there seemed to be more cars in darker colors than in the US. These would be black, dark blue or BRG. This seemed to carry over into the interior where black leather was pretty much the normal as opposed to ivory or dove.

That's right, it was. Probably even more scarce in an X-type?

Default More Cranberry Leather!!!!

Yeah I know, what a thread resurrection...

But, i've been on the hunt for cars with Cranberry leather. Was toying with the idea of retrofitting a full interior into my X-Type, but the problem is the split fold rear seats. For whatever reason, it seems most of the early X-Types that got a Cranberry Interior are a low spec; no power windows in the back, and no fold-down back seat. Mine has the fold-down back seat so that fixes that...

Also looking at buying an XJ sooner rather than later, and I want the Cranberry (my wife doesn't, but that's OK, XJ for me, X-Type for her)

There's a January-2004 XJR with two-tone Charcoal/Cranberry interior for sale over here, only 46K miles on it, but they want too much for it....

And here is an S-Type i saw on ebay.co.uk

And lastly, an X-Type with Cranberry;

Those first 2 X-Type pics show the Full Leather option. Third is with Half Leather.

Since those earlier links are dead, I don't know what those XJ's had in them, but I've never seen an XJ with full Cranberry leather in it. If I did i'd probably buy it on the spot...

In the last year, I think i've seen maybe 5 or 6 cars for sale in the UK, and at least 3 interiors that have been pulled out of X-Types. Only the one XJR in Switzerland. And that's the only S-Type i've seen.

Haven't been looking at US cars...

Just my opinion, but the wood, esp. the greenish grain like that XJR & S-Type doesn't work. It's just too many clashing/contrasting colours in the interior. Maybe a dark grey/charcoal carbon-fiber effect same tone as the dash/door panels. Or maybe Piano Black. Yes the choice of wood gets hard to match up.

Anyone else got photos (not links!) to share?

My initial thoughts on that color combo were "maybe..." after time allowed it to set in, it went to "ouch...."

The XJR's "Cranberry Contrast" option was for a Charcoal Interior with Cranberry Inserts (per the "2004 Jaguar XJ Born to Perform" brochure).

And the options that "u102768" mentioned.

The s-Type R dont look as bad but those red armrests in the XJ are a No-Go. Looks like a re-upholstery chop job IMHO

What other interior colors could you get with the charcoal wood trim?

I love the gray birds eye maple. Hate the Cranberry/Warm Charcoal, but hate the Cranberry/Cranberry much less. LOVE the Heritage/Charcoal. Never seen it before.
