Default I believe I may have killed my audio

I just purchased this 2004 XJ8 last Wednesday and already I’ve lost audio from the radio. Happened overnight, seemingly. But I may have caused it.

Yesterday after pulling into the garage, I changed the language from US English to UK English. I thought it would be fun since it’s a British vehicle. I then turned the car off.

This morning when I drove to work, I realized I had no audio. Everything seems to be working as usual, I can even adjust the audio and it displays on-screen as I do so, just no sound.

Also, even more oddly, it now tells me no phone has been set up for this vehicle. Previously I could press the phone button and it would display the phone call menu. Have I hosed the audio by simply changing the display language? (I would think not)

Could was. Age of consent is lower in Blighty. Teeny boppers prepare to ignore adult advice and make bad decision on their own hook, earlier in life.

Accordingly, their ears grow shut.

Now you have to convince the computer you are adult enough to listen to audio.

Have a care as to switching back to US English. Best to wait until after November 5th.

Enable it during our election sneason, it may come back on, stay on, and never shut up again.

I like your answer.

however, the problem has been resolved. I did change back to US English, then cycled the ignition. Now everything is back to normal.
