Default Ignition Coil Ground

Dear Forum,
My ignition coils were replaced with OEM new 26,000 kilometers ago. Recently, I have had Restricted Performance flash up, (together with the resultant engine stumble), then disappear within seconds? This only happens at idle?
Codes have been firstly P0356 for coil 6, then P0358 for coil 8. I don't think the problem is the coils; could it be a poor ground?
Please, can anyone tell me where I find this ground point:

Hi EsRay
Here is the pic of the grounds. I think it is either 26 or 30 depending on LHD or RHD.

these coils have a feedback wire to the ecm that sets driver circuit codes...they're probably bad

it's kind of backwards but they ground to the body, use a sealed beam light to test it. if you want run an extra ground somewhere on the heads

I'm sorry xalty, but I didn't understand any of the above; please could you explain what I need to do as if to an idiot?
Thank you!

Just replace the # 6 & # 8 coils as they're likely defective. Actually, I got through replacing the # 1 coil on my 2005 Jaguar XJ8L a couple of months ago, and that coil was replaced only 3 years ago.

Hi EsRay,

Have you checked the coil connectors to confirm they are securely latched, and if so, that their electrical contacts are not contaminated?

Cheers,

Don

Thanks Don; I have replaced 6 & 8 with new. Not an easy job because I found that someone had overtightend the hold-down bolts (should be just 5 NM) so that the brass inserts just spun when I tried to loosen them!

Without looking i don't remember if the brass inserts are mounted in plastic.
If so once the bolt is removed, a heated soldering iron, held on the insert.
Will soften the plastic, & it will regrasp the insert when cooled.
Discovered this working on motorcycles, they use plastic everywhere also.
Hope this helps

Thanks Wingrider, the brass inserts are mounted in 'cups' in the plastic cam cover. The only way I could remove the ignition coils was to force them up with the knurled brass insert still attached to the ends of their bolts; (bolts would just keep on turning). I then epoxied the inserts back into place and tightened to the correct 5 Nm!
