Inner Tie Rods, source? Vs. Rebuilt rack - Swaying motion / clunk
Hey, all, On the 2004 VDP with 135k I am solving suspension issues, and the last one seems to be a light clunk from the passenger side over joints and small bumps. Along with the noise comes a subtle side-to-side swaying feeling from the front end. The sway bushings and links are brand new. I look to the power steering rack and tie rods, and observe that I can duplicate the clunking noise when I am able to twist the outer tie rod clockwise till it touches the metal. I assume this should not be able to twist at all. That might also explain the side-to-side motions. I also observe that while twisting the tie rod, it is also able to twist at the inner joint / tie rod within the boot. I am assuming this is wear and tear, correct?
I see sources online for driver and passenger outer tie rods available, but see no mention of inner tie rods. A rack and pinion rebuilder in florida has a rebuillt unit with lifetime warranty and free shipping for $350. He says that that he replaces the inner tie rods altogether, not repair them. Is there a source for the inner tie rod, or must I get the whole rack replaced to gain the benefit of new inner rods? I dont want to solve only half of the problem. Everything else seems tight.
Lastly, is there a replacable steering dampener, I dont see any parts regarding this anywhere. Thanks in advance!

Answering my own question: Coventry West - Online Parts Catalog
Coventry West has them for $60 each - aftermarket
I suppose this will solve it for me.
