Just got back from the TEST RIDE!!! Drum roll please!

If anything, I would say the ride is just a bit softer than the bags. With my Vanden Plas that is not necessarily a bad thing as it was just a bit harsh before IMHO. As a result of that there is just a little more body roll in the slalom run.

Overall, I am pleased with it and no more "Air Suspension Faults." You XJR boys may want it a bit stiffer but I have a Corvette for that.

As far as the installation goes, the rears are easier. I only had to take the tie rod loose and of course the shock. The steering wheel is straight and it tracks straight. Overall, I am happy.

Would anyone truly feel the difference if they weren't aware of the swap? Great feedback!

I would think not. It is a good luxury sedan ride.

Default What a Fantastic Thread

This truly is so very informative, I have been watching your results and unfortunately for me I am not as mechanical as you are but its great to know that this is available for our cars. Since my is an XJR my question naturally is going to be do they (Arnott) provide a stiffer spring for XJR's? I have Ferrari to carve up some windy roads but still like my daily drive not to float too much... And even in Sport mode, its still a bit floaty.
Thank you for sharing with us.

^^^SPORT affects trans shifting not the suspension, that controlled in conjunction with ABS, yaw sensor, accelerometers, and the ASM.

Am I right in assuming that the Arnott coil spring subsititutes do not have the variable shocks operated by the CATS system ? And if they don't does this create any safety issues in not having the variable shocks ?

Here in the UK, such a thing would have to be declared to the insurers who could up the premium considerably, thus negating any savings.

You are correct. No problem in US. They don't totally micromanage your life although the Democrats try.

Hey, have you sold your old air suspension components? Also, how does it feel to have the best/most important thread in over 3 or 4 years? Maybe dare I say ever...

And why would you end such a valuable thread, with so much of your hard work, effort, and time invested, with a disrespectful jab like that? <- hypothetical, no need to respond.

I always, ALWAYS remind people who are relatively new to forum membership to proofread and re-read your posts before hitting the SUBMIT button. If it can be even remotely misunderstood, taken as controversial or politically incorrect, edit the post to eliminate as much as possible. And if you're unsure of how to soften it or spin a phrase to be more witty and sarcastic, a smiley or disclaimer often helps.

A reputation on a forum as small and close-knit as this one can be tarnished quickly and easily by a few words or a perceived attitude. One's reputation has also recovered from a prompt and sincere clarification, if so desired.

My air bags will be for sale soon as I can test them. The compressor is $325 shipped, Tank & solenoid block is $200 shipped, ASM is $200 shipped-will have to be reprogrammed, Air piping is $75 shipped. PM me if you are SEROUSLY interested. I will let you all know when the bags are ready.

I learned a lot. Hope you all did too. Brutal, you have the aircraft!

Now you've gone and done it. What will people talk about on this forum now the final word is in on the "great air suspension conundrum". We just can't say or "do a search" to every new bloke who wants to reopen this thread/topic.

Well maybe you can't but I can.

In reviewing this thread my computer is showing that all the pictures have been removed. Would someone please verify whether they have or not?
Thanks,
Doug
