Default Intermittent Locking Issue FOB-Multiple Engagements

Good evening.

2005 Super V8 (92K) is recently experiencing a strange intermittent behavior when locking and/or unlocking.

After parking, sometimes when locking the car with the fob, the locks will engage 2-4 additional times. Just spent some time in the garage looking at this and it seems:

-the multiple locking/unlocking issue does not occur when locking the car with the key in the drivers door
-when locking, if the behavior is present, the driver door will lock and remain locked while the other doors may land and rest in the unlock position (depending on the number of times the mechanism engages)
-other times all four doors will lock on the first attempt with FOB remote
-other times all four doors will unlock on first attempt with FOB remote

I have had the battery on charger and have driven the car a couple days to rule out low battery as the cause. I have lubed the catches and driver lock with graphite lubricant.

I would like to remedy this, so am looking forward to any suggestions you may have.

Thank you-
mag

Might the problem be with the press switch in the fob ? Do you have a second key you can try and see if that does the same thing, or behaves normally ?

this has happened to me a few weeks back had to climb across front passenger seat to unlock drivers side door.

I had a similar fault happen on a merc and pretty sure it was the drivers door module.

Am going to give the second fob a try; I thought I had tested with it, but to be sure issue persists I will retry.

Thanks

Default Both FOBS - Same Behavior

Hello.

Tried both FOBS and they both result in the same occasional multiple locking/unlocking behavior.

Thanks-

I too am having a similar issue. Sometimes the key fob has a mind of its own even while in the ignition and with the car on. very strange
