There are different versions of the factory bluetooth system. Only the latest one is supposed to work fine.

As my car did not have bluetooth I retrofitted this version and there are no problems with my iphone 8. I have not tried out later versions yet.

The module number of the latest version should be 7W93-10D893-AB. It is located behind the left trunk cover, underneath the navigation module.

Best regards,

Thomas

Thanks for your reply Thomas. It looks like this part number is for the x type judging by eBay listings. Is it also compatible with the XJ? I thought the module part number ending in AC was for the XJ.

Can anyone direct me to the best thread on retrofitting Bluetooth and voice control? I know there are several threads on this, but none I have seen have been very thorough.

Can anyone give me a list of the required parts for the retrofit for US Bluetooth and voice control?

Also would be interested in hearing if anyone has experience with pairing newer iPhones.

The part no. I gave you is correct, I remembered that I took pictures when I retrofitted bluetooth to my SV8, as my car is from Sept. 2003 and did not yet have bluetooth, only the integrated one that needed a separate SIM card.

So yes, it fits the XJ.

Best regards,

Thomas

The Jag Bluetooth is calls only, not music streaming, if that's what you're looking for. Something aftermarket if you want to stream.

I have a 2004 Vanden Plas and my iPhone 10 works flawlessly with the Bluetooth.
