When (If) I do manage to remove it, is the o-ring easily obtainable, please?

David, Just had another look. I do not have a small metal tab. All I have is a small square plastic lug on the rear of the tube. I have tried prising away under there for a release tab but came up with nothing?
The Cam Cover is coming off very shortly (two very, very difficult to access bolts remaining), so I think I'll leave it until then, when I will have better access to it......
David - Thanks again for your help.

Hello again David - Apologies for being like a 'bad penny'. Has my small metal tab been broken off? Please, am I going to have to hacksaw the locking pin to get this (obviously leaking) Oil Filler tube off?

That is the slot where the metal retainer tab is, but I can't quite tell from the photo. It appears the metal tab is still in there. You might try cleaning it well with brake clean (or equivalent) and then using a magnet to slide it out. I think I used a magnetic screwdriver to remove mine.

Thanks Michael - I have been scratching my head over this one for ages!
I have it removed!
And because I have it removed, I have now managed to slide the Cam Cover out from under the fuel line (so I can now work on it while I await the tool to remove the connector). Also, I found the O-ring under it was rock-hard and it broke as I removed it - So very likely this poor seal has been providing an excellent supply of unmetered air!!
Good man!
