Question JAGUAR XJ '08 (x358) hand brake problem

Hey guys,

I have a XJ'08 and at 40026km got a message that there is a handbrake problem. Needless to say handbrake works just fine... x_x
I took my "baby" to the shop and they told be there is something wrong with the hand brake module. As far as they could see, there are no mechanical problem per se, but as soon as they reset the error message and pull the hand brake, message pops up again.

Anybody know something more on this subject? :/

I appreciate any insight, ty

UPDATE: got around to take my car to the mechanic. Nothing spectacular... the hand brake motor was warren out, so they ended up replacing it. total cost around 400 euros.
