Default jaguarparts.com - any experience

Does anyone have experience ordering from these guys? Their prices are quite good on some stuff - for example $39 for a bottle of the trani fluid.

PS:their web site is very flaky and goes down evey other minute.

I've ordered from this site before, genuine Jaguar parts. My receipt says it's from Gaudin Jag/Porsche/Aston Martin in Las Vegas. Good prices and excellent shipping times.

That is strange?? I ordered a replacement valet switch from them and it came from "Jaguar Cleveland". I wonder if this site just searches members of it for parts and sends the order at random? Good price and fast shipping.

Maybe first dealer to fill the order wins! ??? Great system if that is the case.

I had to check this out. You know, competition and all that stuff. Their catalog pictures read "Davis Auto Group" which appears to be a Jaguar/Land Rover/BMW(Yick) dealer out of Cleveland.

Wow, very old thread here, so maybe an update if'n anyone cares? I ordered an A/C hose from jaguarparts.com and it took them a full THREE business days to even accept my order. Another three business days to ship it, and now I find out through UPS (jaguarparts.com never said anything) that it was shipped and will arrive within another week. YAY! Sixteen days (2+weekend+1+3+1+7=16) to order and receive one small part! One thing though, they DID HAVE the part I needed when most places didn't. Still, I think I may search a bit more thoroughly next time before I buy from them.

Hi Cee Jay,

I don't have any experience with jaguarparts.com, but I have ordered several times from jaguarmerriamparts.com, the Jaguar dealer in Merriam, Kansas, who sells OE Jaguar parts at discount prices. Sometimes they are able to ship parts quickly, but more often they have to order the parts from the central warehouse in Mahwah, New Jersey (sometimes they even have to order from the U.K.). Then they have to wait for the parts to arrive before they can ship them to me. Usually the wait is worth the savings, but if I'm desperate I can go to our local Jaguar dealer and have them order the parts for me, and I'll receive them a few days sooner, with better communication and a higher price. Once in a while I'll get lucky and they'll have the part I need in stock, but that's rare. The older a car is, the less likely the local dealer keeps parts in stock, except for tuneup items and parts they continue to sell on a regular basis. It sounds like the biggest problem you had with jaguarparts.com was poor communication.

When an OEM or aftermarket part will do, I save time and money by ordering from one of the large independent Jag specialists such as Coventry West or Welsh Enterprises, who stock the more commonly-ordered items. And don't forget that forum sponsors SNG Barratt and Jagbits offer discounts to Jaguar Forums members.

Cheers,

Don

Yes, I did check Jagbits before I ordered, sadly they don't have that part for my car. I looked many, many places and the only place out of the probably 20+ sites was jaguarparts.com. The part is the low-pressure port/suction hose for the A/C system. MANY places had hoses, but none that particular hose. I just did check jaguarmerriamparts.com, and indeed they DO have that part. I will keep that site for future references.
I will still check Jagbits and other forum sponsors in the future, same as I did this time. This particular part must be a rare failure item with little demand for it.

Follow-up; Got my A/C hose today from jaguarparts.com. Thirteen days from Order to Received isn't unheard of, so I guess it's OK. The part came well packed and new, although it is a pattern part made in Ukraine. Looks fine to me though.

Well, heck. I got the wrong hose. Actually I ordered the right hose, sent the VIN along with it as they requested, and it LOOKS like it is correct with the low pressure port and all that, but not even close to fitting. I best get my money back.
Now on to jaguarmerriamparts.com and another three weeks. Just in time for Winter.
