Default Jtis information?

Is there any way to get a JTIS manual for my car on a disc? Down loading onto my computer is not an option and a daily subscription charge for the GTR service is not so good either.

Does anybody offer the JTIS prepared on a disc by mail? Am I missing something here?

tarheal, unfortunately, most of the CDs that you are going to find, are only going to cover up to 2004 at best. Beyond that, most of the manufacturers went to online systems and got rid of the CDs/DVDs all together. If you can get your hands on a 2004 CD, you should be able to look up the information you are after for a 2004 car and it will be fairly accurate for your car. Normally there are not a lot of changes from 1 year to the next unless a complete redesign is done. Hopefully this helps.

JTIS 21 was the last CD issued by Jaguar. It was created to 'self destruct' on (january 1 2004?? or 2005 I think???) It was useless unless you lied to it by resetting your computer date. JTIS 20 was almost Identical as it was only 6 months older and does NOT time out. 2004 MY cars are the last supported by this CD. I copied the disc when I worked at the local dealer (laptop with a 'burner') and still use version 20. After the last CD (21) we were given 'usernames and passwords' to log onto the Jaguar website for all info. When I left the dealer I was deleted from the system so I no longer have access to the database. Pirated 20 or 'hacked' versions of 21 are fine for info from 1995 to 2004 Jaguars (all models) and can be found on the internet for cheap.

The JTIS CD I have is an original JTIS Issue 21 not a copy and it doesnt require the date to be reset at all nor does it require a password or username.
It contains 100s of new info including the only JTIS to have any info on the X Type 2.0 dieselName: Copyofjtispic-1.jpg

The EPC (Electronic Parts Catalogue) DVD (Nov 2004) that I have (again an original and not a copy) does need the PC date to be set to Nov 2004 to work.

The CD you have was purchased from Jaguar. Most customers found out the price from the parts dept and balked. I don't remember the price but I think it was over $1000.00 USD. The ones issued to the service depts had a date specific end point. They wanted us to use the online database but I always kept version 20 in my computer in the shop. Version 20 also has the X-Type diesel up to 2004.25 MY so any copies of either will be the only info you can get on CD. The online database had 'packets' of info so it was not easy to download entire manuals. The downloads were in small sections and it would have taken hundreads of hours to download and reassemble into a useable manual (I did not bother).
JPEC on CD was also discontinued around that time and went to an online database. I have a 2005 edition on an old computer with an old date set. Alot of the numbers are superceded but it is still useful.

My version 21 (which cost a fortune years ago) was uploaded to a file hosting website via this a helpful member on this forum with the intention of him hosting it for all on this website so hopefully everyone on the forum will have access to the latest JTIS v21 before it was discontinued soon

Forum member gillgr is sorting it
I uploaded all of the 2005 JTIS CD files over Xmas to a file sharing site so he could host them for everyone
You would need to contact him to get a timescale as its now out of my hands

I think it is online. I've never tried accessing it because I have my own copy on a laptop. It might be kept over on the XK8 forum. Send a pm to the Mod H2Oboy. He'll know if it is accessible.
