HouTexJag mentioned this but since his car is black it is a non issue. To my eye this black panel completely destroys the melodic flow of the body lines otherwise present in the vehicle.

I'm sure there is a logical reason as to why this design element exists but I just can't get past it. Sure, I could purchase the color I want (white) and have the panel sprayed to match but that just seems fundamentally wrong on several fronts.

The idea was to make the rear window look like the glass wraps around to meet the rear side windows, but I just don't think it works very well--too much color difference between the glass and the metal. I would be willing to bet that the pillars go to body color in the future and it's not a difficult fix now to have them painted if you don't like them.

I believe earlier in the thread, someone had the idea that in the original design Ian Callum probably had the whole rear window raping around, but was too impractical when it came to mass marketing.

I like the Startech's front end better. The rounder, Ferrari F430-esque openings don't seem to go very well with this car.
