Has anyone done this successfully? What source? Will the Amazon ~$40 set work, or is something more elaborate needed to avoid Can buss errors? BTW I searched this first & it failed to provide any useful posts.

So did the Auxito work without any error messages on the dash? Any issues with longevity? Do they appear any brighter than factory? Mine are so low and dim it is hard to drive at night.

 

Still very pleased with mine after 6 months. It does (to my old eyeballs) improve low beam lighting significantly.

One note - I would avoid the fan-cooled version of LED bulbs. 1) I cannot see how a fan is really going to help in a sealed container like the XJ8 lamp housings, its just going to recirculate the heat, and 2) if they need a fan, it means they could be pushing current beyond what the LED OEM (Cree, Nichia, TCPI) might recommend in order to advert high lumens.

FWIW, I bought these for $29 on Amazon and installed them yesterday. It took me about an hour because it was sort of tricky to put the bulb in. On my car, at least they are a little longer than the stock H7 bulb and so they rub against the "deflector" making it difficult to seat correctly. Eventually, I installed them, and they are definitely better than the stock low beam bulb. My complaint is that, while they are brighter and have the cooler / bluer light, the light pattern is a little more diffuse than I would like. We'll see if they last, but I hope they do.
