Default Lock Beep question....

2005 vdp and walking away from from having just locked it using my fob often have to walk back to the car to see if it actually locked.
My other two vehicles which give me an audible beep to let me know that I hadn't hit the incorrect button. Is there any thing in set-up?

Suggestions anyone,

Regards,
Dave...

The locking beep is configurable in SDD, and is also market-dependent. My Ex-Japan car does not beep on lock or unlock.

if you tap twice on lock, maybe you get sound then. Only then is the alarm activated

As far as I know the beep can only be activated via SDD, there nothing in the set-up. That's because in some markets the beep for locking/unlocking the car is forbidden.

In any case, at least the turning lights should flash when you unlock/lock the car.

Best regards,

Thomas

SDD (Symptom Driven Diagnostic) is the Jaguar diagnostic software and is the only thing that really works if something needs to be programmed on the car.
A code reader, capable of reading the Jaguar codes, is practically essential for a first diagnosis if you get some error messages, but these readers a limited when it comes to deeper investigations.

Best regards,

Thomas

Don't the signal lights flash? I don't recall which way (locking or unlocking) is two flashes and which is one flash, and that may also be an SDD-programmable thing that might be turned off. I'm glad there's no beep, as I despise it when cars honk for locking, especially when it's your neighbor coming home at 2:38 AM! Also, the lock solenoids themselves are quite audible, and if there's not a good THUNK, or flash of the lights, when you hit the lock button, then it was already locked.
