Default looking for a front height sensor

Anyone have a used front (left) height sensor they'd be willing to part with? (maybe someone who converted to coil overs). PM me if you have one you'd sell.

I suspect mine is going bad, but just I don't want to buy a brand new one for an experiment. I had started another thread covering the issue, https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...sensor-161445/ After re-calibration in SDD, I realized the front end is raising itself about 1-2 cm but that it's level across the front. So the ASM is definitely controlling this (not a pneumatic issue). I suspect it's going into "rough road detection" mode, caused by a bad/noisy sensor. As soon as I shut off the car the front lowers back to the calibrated height. On startup it always goes to the correct height, but once I start driving the front raises up too high. Only happens about 1 out of 5 drive cycles.

Got somewhat of the same problem....I had my control arms replaced by my shade tree and I think when he put the control arms on he had to move the sensor. Its either too high or too low.

Now currently...my air reservoir and all 4 shocks have air in them to the maximum capacity and I am trying to get it to deflate. All 4 corners are about 6 inches too high all the way around.

I am using the Chinese SDD program JLR 139 to try and calibrate but it keeps going thru the same cycle of trying to put air in it while it does not lower. I'm worried that the Arnott air bags in the shocks will burst if I keep trying to execute this program.

Any suggestions???

All 4 corners maxed out is a different condition. Sounds like the height sensors are not connected to the control arm (or they've been broken) and the ASM thinks it's too low. Check the physical attachment of the 3 sensor links to the control arms first. If not, could be some odd fault with the ASM mode. Try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins.

I would not mess with the calibration until you get the car back into normal mode. Even if you remove/replace the height sensor the car's height will be approximately correct. The FSM says to recalibrate but it's probably not necessary. I've had sensors on/off and it's never been an issue. Just make sure the battery is disconnected before you start playing with the height sensors.

Also, you are likely to get more help starting your own thread on the topic since people will read the title and may be able to offer other advice.

If I'm not mistaken, there's only one height sensor for the front end. That's why both sides usually drop together. I think I still have mine. I'll check on that and let you know by tomorrow.

Correct--my car only has the left front sensor. But I know previous ones had a right side, and I don't think the mounting is the same. That would be great--let me know if you do. No hurry, whenever you get a chance.

I can't remember if I threw it away or not. If I still have it, I'll send it to you for the price of small priority flat rate box.

I'm very sorry for the delay...the weekend got away from me. I'm afraid I must've thrown out the height sensor by mistake. My apologies.

I am pretty sure that the front and rear sensor will be the same and

I am guessing that they are not handed and therefore any sensor will fit

at any point.

Correct me if I am wrong?

I'm sure that the sensor itself is the same, but the mounting and linkage arm will differ. I'm not sure how lucky I would be getting the arm off and swapping it over to a different sensor without breaking it.

The RH front height sensor was deleted from VIN G26872 onwards.
