Good day gents.
I recently changed all my struts and started using the car again after having parked it for about 5 years.
I have faced certain issues and this is one of them.
The lights were working fine except for the little on on the passenger side, the tiny one sitting over the low beam.
I went to check it and found that it was worked on before, with one of the two wires cut from inside the light box, checked the bulb and found it to be ok.
As it is rather difficult to rejoin it inside the light casing, I am considering joining it to the wires from the outside where the connecter is. Any idea which wire I should address?
Whilst looking at it, I noticed the connecter's clip that secures it to the lamp cover to be broken and upon further inspection, noticed it to be wet with some corrosions.
I cleaned it well and then sprayed all the contacts with special contact spray and fixed everything back.
The following day both low beam headlights stopped working. I checked all fuses in the engine compartment as well as in the cabin, all were well.
Also checked the relays in the engine comp fuse box and they too are ok. Bought 2 new bulbs of the same specs, changed one and still no go, didnt try to change the second.
What or where else should I be looking for?
The hi beams still work and I can hear the clicking in the base of the low beam whenever i switch on the lights or flick the high beam lever.
Below photos of the connector (before & after cleaning) and the bulb.
On a separate note, noticed the lenses to be wet from inside, heated them up from the outside till they were clear, but today they were foggy again.
Should I strip the lights up or keep drying them till they dry properly, noting that when they were last worked on, some 5 years ago, the electrician left the cover dangling inside in an open position
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers
