Just got Air Suspension Fault but car is sitting and riding fine after being at work for 8hrs today. (04 XJR) Battery is 2-3 months old. Wanting to narrow down what is the cause and possibly fix before taking to a shop. Looking for the most affordable way to pull C codes and other Jag specific codes down the road. Searching the forum, people have mentioned the JLR Mongoose knock offs for around 40 bucks. Look to be version 160 available online now. Any negative to this? I have an old laptop and involved installation isn't an issue. Looks like v137 and below is an offline version. Am I going to be stuck paying for an online subscription to use it? Any other low cost alternatives? Something under $100? Hoping to read and reset codes mostly, will take the car in for anything more serious that comes up.

you can use a knockoff mongoose and run v160 offline to pull the codes no problem

 

There is no easy cheap answer. I tried Mongoose and factory software. Total frustrating crap.
A friend has a Snap On scanner. It does most cars well. Not cheap.

 

With what you are saying my gut says the code is probably from compressor in front left behind bumper. Check out 'bagpipingandy ' on line for a rebuild kit. If you're somewhat mechanical you can do the work yourself. What happens is the desiccant in the system becomes saturated from removing humidity and the the system can tell that and sends the code. Has to do with compressor heat and time between it running and resting. I had same issue and this fixed it. If you search for the rebuild process it's out there somewhere.

 

Check for leaks. That is the cause of compressor problems.
Park overnight. Measure fender height before and after. If it drops an inch or more there is a leak on that strut.
If put two Bag Pipping Andy rebuild kits in mine. Did not fix the leaking struts. Ended up burning up the compressor.

With the air suspension fault light on suspension is working fine I had the same problem I disconnected the battery both turminals waiting about 2 hours let the computer reset its self it should go off it did for me in the beginning but after a year or so eventually I had to change the compresor for a total new one it was just over £300 on ebay from aftermarket specialist in jaguar cars worked perfectly don't bother trying to rebuild it tryed mine did not work that's why I bought new jaguar original pump from Robert rawle UK Britain South Wales

 

My ancient iCarsoft 930 pulls all codes. Does not allow changing ride height or other items.
I have a Mongoose clone I will give you. Threw the ancient laptop with Win 7 in recycle bin. SDD is perfect for people with a lot of patience and strong computer skills. I did not have enough of either.
