Default Mesh Grills; aftermarket?

I've read that the Super V8 version of the X350 had mesh grills, but these appear to be standard XJ8s, so are these aftermarket grills?

This is from the 2006 US X350 order guide:

In keeping with all 2006 Jaguars, the XJ gets a new ‘face’ with the switch to chrome mesh grille inserts across the range. The supercharged XJR continues to be distinguished by its body-colored surround for its mesh grille.

The XJR has the mesh insert but it was optional for others
Adamesh and minta offer aftermarket options

The x358 has a upgraded grill, bumper and lower mesh.
The x358 grill bolts on but is very expensive.

A repo x358 style grill and lower mesh is in the works.
See here
Repoduction X358 Grill

The status so far is the upper grill is ready for molds, prototyping of the lower is in progress. I estimate the repo front end (upper and lower) will be about the same as the other offer a mesh set. All parts will be made from abs plastic, same as the oem parts

Cheers

It is quite a common upgrade because a lot of people though that the standard XJ8 grille was awful. I changed the one on my '04 XJ8 to a mesh one as soon as I got it.

All of the official press info I have says that the mesh grille was standard in the US from the 2006 model year so they should all have it from then on.

Different countries have different standard builds though and I believe that the UK still used the original grille until the facelift model.

We get a lot of X350's badged Executive from Japan and they all have the mesh grille and chrome surround as well.

Are there recommended places to buy better quality mesh grill ?

Some of the ones on ebay must be junk.

A lot of folks on here recommended Mina. I ordered the inserts for my 04 XJ8 and just installed them . Pretty easy and lots of good tips on these forums. Definitely helped since the instructions it came with were pretty vague. Here's a before and after pic.

Adamesh or Mina both usually get good feedback
