I haven't driven the Jaguar in a while so today I decided to treat myself with a nice afternoon drive. It was a great ride until I looked out my window and saw my driver's mirror flapping around in the wind held on only by the wiring harness. I stopped and tried to reattach it but failed and held it in my hand with the window down until I got home. I can't tell what broke among all the little plastic pieces and parts that attachs this thing. I get home and google it and there is very little information about how to fix it or about replacement parts. Does anyone out there in Jagland have experience with these mirrors?
It's a 2008 XJ8. thanks.

Look for a replacement mirror assembly from a wrecker.

Hmm, it seems like I'm the only one that ever had a door mirror come apart. But that's okay, I fixed it myself.

Lots of posts about bad mirrors on here. Glad you were able to fix it. Seems the major issue is some alien metal they used in the mirror mount. I changed out my mirrors today. Live in VT a fair amount of road salt. I winter the car but it was not so lucky with the PO's.

Degraded and just gone mount.

Newer mirror still starting the bad stuff at the bottom tho.

Lost some feature with new mirrors. No more motor fold. They came off xj8 but the others were rejecting the car and were just about swinging door scratchers. Some day I will get the features back but ill run these until then.
The metal comes out looking like kitty litter. Fitting. Lol
