FYI, I'm currently helping one of my friends work through several electrical/electronic/transmission issues with his 2013 Ford Fusion... Like our X350, it even has a finicky electric park brake.

Cheers,

Don

Changing the #8 coil pack and plug on my XJ8L was not difficult. Nothing had to be removed or forced. Using two different length extensions and a u-joint gave me perfect access to the plug. Makes me wonder if something is different about my car since others have difficulty accessing that plug and coil?

I changed all the plugs on my 06 XJR about a week ago. There was no drama on #8, I don't know why so many people complain about it. I didn't have to remove anything, same as you, the right extensions and U-joint worked wonderfully. Trying to get a straight shot on that plug by removing things would have been much more time consuming and unnecessary.

True enough, but the coil seems a bit too tight to get out without further disassembly, till after the first time when you realize it's not really necessary.
