On my 2008 XJ8VP I was not getting any air to the defrost vents and very little to the foot vents. Air was hot on pass side and cooler on driver side. Auxillary water pump is new and operational. Scanned system and got following errors for four different vent servos. B2832 Mode servo fault, B2834 Air mix servo fault, B2842 Cool air bypass servo fault, and B2843 Air intake servo fault. I can not get the air mode to change at all. I find it hard to imagine that all these servos are failed. Auxillary rear heat works just fine. When watching the servos in operation none of them move. I am leaning toward a Remote Climate Control Module issue but wanted to bounce this off of the group to see if anyone has had something like this. I am going to pull one of the servos to apply voltage directly to it to test. Thanks for any insights.

 

Update: After investigating more I have found that none of my vent servos are working. I am going to try swapping the Climate control unit to see if this corrects it. Any other ideas from those more knowlegable than me on this?

 

Do you have IDS or SDD? They will give you more detailed information.

 

I have the SDD. Worst piece of software I have ever seen. Worthless in this case. My generic scanner gives better info.

 

Success! Found the issue. There are two B+ feeds to the climate control module which it then uses those two feeds to power the vent servos. These two B+ feeds are protected by fuses located in the passenger side (LHD US spec) fuse box in the kick plate area. The two fuses are F1 and F28. In my case F28 was blown which shut down the 12V to the vent servos which explained why none of the vent servos were working. Hopefully this resolve helps others in the future. Cheers.

 

Why did the fuse blow up in the first place? I would not be surprised if the issue re-appears.
