Angry My Poor X350....Should I...x358 Question

Well I haven't been posting much after a series of mishaps with my 2004 XJR. First I had a motor mount issue...No big deal..This lead to transmission line leaking and an eventual blown transmission.(The underbelly does a great job and holding transmission fluid btw) Then I couldn't reprogram the transmission. Transmission was from the right VIN series but for some reason it wouldn't communicate.

Finally swapped my TCU into new transmission and I was mobile....THEN an air strut literally exploded while driving....took the ARNOTS out and put in two used factory ones.
Well now I'm moving again and need to rebuild the front end. Its developed a clunk. In the meantime clearcoat started peeling on my roof, both fenders got a bit damaged when air strut popped (the fender lips..I pushed them back but paints flaked) And the transmission still doesn't feel right (Ill need to try to reflash).

So here is my issue. I don't mind rebuilding the front end, hopefully the transmission is a flash away from normalcy, and although I wasn't wanting to paint it...Ok Ill do that too. But here is the thing.
I have the 2.6 big bore AVOS SC kit and dammed if I can get the car tuned. Currently I have the ABACO MAF and transfer function but I feel a lot is left on the table without being able to properly tune the car. Torque management, having to rely on playing with the transfer function for a tune... Gears...I love my car but if upgrading would help me performance wise....It be less expensive for me to just get a new pre owned xjr at this point.
So what year was the ECU upgraded to where I can actually get the car tuned? 2006? In that would I be able to go with a slot MAF instead of an abaco. Can I add gears and adjust for that? I'm just not sure what the extent of tuning out there is. I do prefer the pre facelift but will go that route if I need to..And give up my lovely calipers
So Help and guidance please..
Many thanks

Very sorry to hear of all your issues that you have had!

The electronics change was in MY 2006 USA. Along with the use of the VVT system for the SC model that was already available in the NA version.

I do not know what the start VIN is for 2006.

In the "quest for 450 hp" thread I know Cambo talks about it.
